I gave something back to Iraq

Nine years ago I boarded a plane bound for the middle east.  I didn't know I was going to war.  I didn't know that I was going to witness such horror.

My former therapists Paula had me choose a rock from a beautiful display in her office.  I chose a smooth stone.  Throughout my treatment I would imagine sending the pain and negative energy back into this rock.  Paula kept the rock safe and in due time passed it to Loraine.  They both guarded and protected my rock as they helped me release some of the trauma.

Loraine asked me what I wanted to do with my rock.  I told her I wanted to take it out to the Arizona desert and blow it into a million pieces.  My heart felt as though it had been blown out through my chest so why not blow a hole through the rock that contained my memories?

But Loraine had a better Idea.

She knew a young soldier who was getting ready to deploy.
He took my rock back to Iraq

He held it for safe keeping, and in due time found a proper resting place for my rock.

And placed it somewhere special.

Many Thanks!

  3. Sorry, I misspelled and have to try again. This is amazing, it feels like the rock has gone full circle. I am glad he sent you pictures.

  4. Kimberly, this is my son. I hope this has helped you to move many steps forward in your healing. I am honored to know that my son has helped you in a very small way. During his deployment he talked to us about the best place to put the rock. When he saw the Iraq Wall honoring those who had died in service to our country he knew it was the place to put the rock.
